Expert Group for Social Work in Teaching

University teaching plays a vital role in qualifying future social work professionals. It therefore also has a powerful influence on the development of the profession and the discipline. This raises questions about the social work-specific profile of university teaching and the related requirements for teaching approaches in higher education social work courses. This expert group is therefore concerned with issues pertaining to methodology, pedagogy and the curricular embedding of subject-related theories and action plans as well as approaches to professional identity formation in social work courses. The following themes are given special consideration in our discussions:

Collegial dialogue about teaching-related topics and pedagogical approaches practised at universities are at the core of the group’s work. This dialogue results in publications and conference papers.
